10 Fall Date Ideas

0

Whether we like it or not, summer is coming to an end soon. I know for many this is devastating but if you’re like me, you know the best season is right around the corner. Fall is officially in the air folks! Pumpkin spice coffee, lattes, candles are all over the place these days. All of us mamas deserve a day or night off from the kiddos. I have a few things for you to do this fall with your special someone:

  1. Pumpkin patch – I’m sure this was pretty obvious but NWO/Southern MI has quite the list of pumpkin patches you can choose from: Trabbic Pumpkin Farm in Erie MI, Fleitz Pumpkin Farm in Oregon OH, Gust Brothers Pumpkin Farm in Ottawa Lake MI
  2. Apple orchard – just like a pumpkin patch, you can’t experience fall in NWO without visiting an apple orchard. A few to visit are: Macqueens Apple Orchard in Holland OH, Bennett’s Orchard in Ottawa Lake MI, Erie Orchards & Cider Mill in Erie MI, Hoens Orchard in Delta OH
  3. Hay rides – although this one is kind of a 2 for 1 with the apple orchards and pumpkin patches I couldn’t leave it out. Something about a hay ride in the fall just makes you feel like a kid again. It’s the perfect addition for a cute fall day date
  4. Winery – Even though a winery can be a date idea any time of the year, enjoying a winery where you can sit outside and feel the fall breeze is my absolute favorite. Here’s a list of just a few in the area: Urban Pine Winery, this newly opened winery is in Maumee OH, Majestic Oak Winery in Grand Rapids is one of my favorites with live music and food trucks, St Julian Winery in Dundee MI, Knotty Vines Farm & Winery in Wauseon OH, Put in Bay Winery on Put in Bay island, Stoney Ridge Winery in Bryan OH
  5. Sylvania fall fest – October 16-17th downtown Sylvania hosts a fall fest with local vendors, trick or treat and a pumpkin patch for kids, live music and food trucks. This 2 day event concludes with a parade on Sunday and is a perfect fall date idea
  6. Brewery – Just as there are your choice of local wineries, there are certainly local breweries to enjoy this fall as well. Here is a short list with many more to choose from: Patron Saints Brewery in Toledo on Bancroft and they usually have quite the selection of food trucks to choose from, Black Frogs Brewery in Holland OH, Maumee Bay Brewery downtown Toledo, Inside The Five Brewery with 2 locations: Sylvania & Perrysburg OH, Pavlovs Brewery in Temperance MI, Upside Brewing in Sylvania OH, Buffalo Rock Brewing Company in Waterville OH
  7. Carving pumpkins – after you’ve visited a pumpkin patch, continue your date and take home your pumpkins and have a contest who can carve the best pumpkin
  8. Park picnic – Most people think of heading to the park or having a picnic n the summer but you can still enjoy a picnic date day or evening in the fall. Bring some blankets, get cozy and relax. Toledo area is known for there many metro parks so your options really are endless when it comes to choosing somewhere to go
  9. Bonfire – added to the list of date ideas because who doesn’t love a bonfire? For those who don’t want to let go of summer this is the perfect option to carry into fall and make it still feel like it’s a summer night. Just dress warm and bring some blankets 🙂
  10. Haunted house – couldn’t complete this list without adding haunted houses as an option! Fall also means Halloween and all things spooky! A few you can choose from: House of Damnation in Maumee OH, Field of Fear in Monclova OH, Halloweekends at Cedar Point in Sandusky OH, Haunted Hydro in Fremont OH
