TMA will host Great Performances: Black History Month Celebration. This is a two-part series, with a conversation and spoken word component taking place on Saturday, February 22 at 2:00 PM and the music component on Sunday, February 23 at 3:00 PM. While it is a two-day event, each performance can stand alone. Both events are free and will take place in the Great Gallery. On Angels Wings We Soar To The Light
Sunday, February, 28 2021 at 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm | The Toledo Symphony strings return to St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in celebration of Black History Month. Hear beautiful works by and more in an intimate, candle-lit setting of the church! In-person tickets are limited and may be purchased by calling the St. Martin de Porres office.
Monroe County Library System
If you are willing to travel a bit outside of the city, you will find Michigan’s longest-running annual blues celebration. Monroe County’s 34rd Annual Black History Month Blues Series runs throughout the month of February, with performances taking place each week at different library branches. Then on Saturday, February 29, the series wraps with The Big Gig! being held at Monroe County Community College’s Meyer Theatre.
