Each February, we observe Black History Month. Whether you are looking for something to do with the kids or you want a night out with the girls or the SO, there is no shortage of activities and events in and around the city.

TMA will host Great Performances: Black History Month Celebration. This is a two-part series, with a conversation and spoken word component taking place on Saturday, February 22 at 2:00 PM and the music component on Sunday, February 23 at 3:00 PM. While it is a two-day event, each performance can stand alone. Both events are free and will take place in the Great Gallery. Monroe County’s 34rd Annual Black History Month Blues Series runs throughout the month of February, with performances taking place each week at different library branches. Then on Saturday, February 29, the series wraps with The Big Gig! being held at Monroe County Community College’s Meyer Theatre.
