Museums

Children’s Museum of Findlay (Findlay)

Children’s Museum of Findlay is a whole museum dedicated to littles! There are lots of areas for pretend play such as the dentist and the post office. Children can also explore a climbing wall, sock hockey, and more. Another awesome resource on CM of Findlay’s website is how to approach play with your child while visiting the museum. I think some of these ideas are so helpful to develop meaningful play and exploration for our little ones.

*CM of Findlay is Closed Sunday through Tuesday.

Imagination Station (Toledo)

Imagination Station is a great science museum for your budding scientist. I personally love the little kid area. It has a mock doctor’s office, grocery store, and more. There’s also a giant area for water play. The best part is that this area is sectioned off so if your toddler runs away they can’t get out to the whole museum.

*Imagination Station is currently closed due to COVID. There’s no official reopening date at this time.

Toledo Museum of Art (Toledo)

Soak in some culture at the Toledo Museum of Art. There are always new exhibits and pieces to see.

*TMA is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Admission is free Wednesdays through Sundays

Play Spaces

New Heights Gymnastics and More (Maumee & Wauseon)

NHGM prides itself on offering fun and engaging activities to kids of all ages. For instance, there’s a Ninja Zone for your budding ninja and a great gymnastics area for a tumbling gymnast. NHGM does offer scheduled classes for kids of all ages but they also have open gym type events regularly that they post about on their Facebook page.

SkyZone Toledo (Holland) and Get Air (Toledo)

Time to get the wiggles out! Bounce around on giant trampolines or dive into a foam pit.

Sylvania Playland

Sylvania Playland is a great spot for kids to burn off their energy. It has a small arcade area, but the real gems are all the playgrounds and inflatables for kids to play on. There is even a small infant/toddler area for kids under 3! They have various sizes of inflatables however you have to be a certain height to be able to play on the bigger ones. I’ve taken my son pre-COVID and it was always a big hit. It’s a fantastic place to visit in the winter because there are so many things for them to do.

Urban Air

Urban Air is an all-inclusive play area. This location has something for everyone! There are go-karts, sky riders, and more in addition to their giant trampoline park. Pricing depends on which activities you’re planning on hitting up that day. They also offer memberships if you’re going to become a frequent flyer.

Jungle Junction (Belleville, Ohio)

The largest indoor play structure in Ohio! JUNGLE JUNCTION PLAY & PARTY CENTER offers family-friendly play and provides a safe, clean, and fun environment for children, parents, and grandparents. Our goal is to offer a healthy and happy place with unique activities and entertainment that will keep kids active, enjoying themselves, and interacting with each other.

Arcades & More

Chuck E. Cheese (Toledo & Holland)

Chuck E. Cheese is a true childhood classic. Allow your child to explore all sorts of arcade-style games to earn tickets to prizes that would cost you $2 instead of the $20 you put into the token machine. However, children of all ages love to go and play at this iconic arcade. 

Funagin’s

Funagin’s is a family fun center that would be perfect for families with older children. It has a roller skating rink, paintball, laser tag, and a sky maze playground. Pricing is based on which attraction(s) you will be enjoying that visit.

Toledo Playzone

Feeling like bumpin’ cars? Then you should head on over to Toledo Playzone. They have bumper cars,  laser tag, and loads of arcade games.

Create: Art Studio & Workshop 

Create is a charming studio located in Downtown Perrysburg that is sure to lead to loads of artistic joy for you and your family. It offers a variety of classes geared for artists of all ages. They offer preschool classes, elementary-age classes, classes on developing a portfolio, and classes with local artist Michael Provenza. Create also offers family sessions which is something I’m looking to try out when my kids are a little older.

However, if you’re not up to attending an in-person workshop Create also sells art supply subscription boxes. These specially curated boxes have high-quality items to allow your artist to reach their full potential. There are a variety of curated boxes available to you’ll be sure to find one that fits your needs!

Local Libraries

Lucas and Wood counties are home to some beautiful libraries. They provide Wi-Fi, books, and movies, while also having children’s areas. Many of these areas have items to play with. The Perrysburg Way Public Library has a train table, fruit and vegetable stand, and more for kids to act out what they’ve read. Maumee Library has a whole separate room for kids to run around, play with dollhouses, jump on stepping stones, and more! The main library in Downtown Toledo has a teen space and some neat activities for the littles.
