Over the last few years, it seems like every day there is a new “National (something or other) Day” and they seem to have one for nearly anything you can think of. While crazy or not, I love it and think it adds a little bit of fun into everyday life. One I particularly hold near and dear to my heart … (kidding, kinda) is National Margarita Day – because who doesn’t love an excuse to enjoy a margarita, am I right? Especially now that I’m a mama – a day I can sip on a marg is a good day.
I’ve lined up a list of some local restaurants to go and grab yourself a margarita, enjoy 🙂
-
Don Juan Mexican Bar & Grille (Franklin Park on Monroe St, Toledo)
Don Juan is having a National Margarita day special; $3.50 margs on the rocks all day long and 3-6 pm happy hour
-
Ventura’s (Bancroft St, Toledo)
Voted the best margarita in Toledo 6 years in a row and their food is locally sourced right here in Toledo
-
Carmel’s Mexican Restaurant (Tremainsville Rd, Toledo)
Locally owned and family operated for over 30 years. Also includes a kid menu
-
Cocina de Carlos (locations in Perrysburg & Waterville)
Another family and locally owned Mexican restaurant. All of their food is made from scratch and menu includes gluten-free, vegan and food allergy-friendly items and a wide selection of 100% agave tequilas
-
El Tipico Restaurant (South Ave, Toledo)
A family-owned restaurant since 1968, 95% gluten-free menu, fresh organic ingredients and vegan and vegetarian-friendly items as well
-
El Camino (locations in Toledo, Oregon, Point Place)
Voted #1 Authentic Mexican Restaurant, best patio, and margaritas 14 years in a row by the Toledo Blade. Will also add that this is a personal fave of mine for margaritas 😉
-
El Zarape (Wooster St, Bowling Green)
Enjoy a margarita on the rocks or frozen in any of their multiple flavored margaritas. I’m not a native BG resident but this restaurant has great, raving reviews!!
-
Te’kela Mexican Cocina y Cantina (Sylvania & Perrysburg locations)
With a happy hour every day (including weekends) of half-off appetizers and drinks from 3-5:30 pm, wide selection of margaritas and contemporary and authentic menu items, you cannot go wrong with choosing Te’kela (another personal fave as I’m a Sylvania gal and this one is very close to home)
No matter where you go or how you take it, I hope you enjoy a margarita on National Margarita Day, which was chosen specifically to be in February to remind everyone that it is not just a summer drink but an ‘anytime drink’. Cheers mamas!
