Memorial Day weekend tends to be the “official” kick off to summer, and with that comes the opening of most Splash Pads and Pools in the NW Ohio Area.
Look below at some near, and slightly farther, places to add to your summer plans this year!

SPLASH PADS
COONTZ RECREATION CENTER SPLASH PAD-
5330 Seaman Rd. Oregon
With 14 different environments for play, your kids will stay entertained all afternoon. The pad is free to all, operating from 10am to 9pm on a daily basis. Call Oregon Recreation Department 419-698-7169 for more information.
NORTHWOOD COMMUNITY CENTER
3700 Main Street, Northwood 43619
A new community center features an outdoor splash pad with fun features and plenty of cool off space. Splash pad and outdoor restrooms are open 10am-8pm. This does require you to be a member of the community center. It also features indoor rec areas for tennis, basketball, pickleball and a fitness center and locker rooms.
THE COOL ZONE- TOLEDO ZOO
2 Hippo Way, Toledo
As if the Zoo couln’t get any better for a family outing, The Cool Zone is included with your zoo membership or admission. It opens 10am daily and closes 1 hour before the zoo closure time. Visit toledozoo.org or call 419-385-5721. Open until Labor Day.

Glass City Metropark- Mini Maumee Water Play

A one of a kind water play area! Featuring stone like features, water paths that mimic the river ways of our area and a water fall to run under. Changing rooms and lockers available at the nearby Market Hall. The Mini-Maumee Water Play Area will open for the season on Friday, May 24 through Monday Sept. 2, 2024. It will be open daily from *10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
*Water features like the Mini-Maumee, Raintowers and Misting Boulders may be shut off temporarily for maintenance issues, water quality issues, and inclement weather. *NOTE* All water feature at Glass City Metropark will be shut off if temperatures are below 70 degrees.
REV H. V. SAVAGE PARK

Open 12-6pm. This is a neighborhood splash pad opening Memorial Day Weekend through Aug 19th, that offers an open area to play and cool off. Water features and figurines make this a fun little visit.
Day Trip SPLASH PAD
BLUE HERON BAY SPRAY PARK
3200 Jennings Rd. Whitmore Lake, MI
This is worth the short road trip. Full of water play structures, water slides and covered pavilions, there is something for everyone. Concessions stands and other amenities included. For $10 per vehicle, you can’t beat this day of fun.
THORN PARK
23999 King Rd. Brownstown Charter Township, MI
Take a quick drive to experience Thorn Park. With a variety of ways to cool-off, the entire family can enjoy themselves. Pack a picnic and enjoy a day of water and sun. Admission is $2/ 2hr sessions. PLYMOUTH COMMUNITY PARK- Sprayscape

This splash pad is nestled between between 2 other large play areas. With open grass areas and picnic tables and covered areas, this can be an entire afternoon of fun. And within minutes you are in downtown Plymouth MI where you can grab food, ice cream, treats or shop little shops.
POOLS
BOWLING GREEN CITY POOL AND WATERPARK

How about a seasonal pool experience in the Wood County area? The City Pool is open daily from 12:00 pm-8:45 pm from Friday May 31st, 2024 until Monday, August 19th, 2024. Admission ranges from $3.75-$8 based on age and resident/non-resident. Check website for features and seasonal pass information and requirements.
ROLF PARK POOL- MAUMEE
2115 Cass Rd, Maumee
Rolf Park Pool is open to Maumee Residents ONLY. It features several colorful waterslides and free community events. Although open to area residents or Maumee school students, there is an admission charge of $5-8 per person (depending on height). Memberships are available. Pool hours are limited. Summer 2024 pool hours are Monday-Friday from 12pm-6:45pm, and Sat-Sun from 12-6pm.
Perrysburg Municipal Pool

Attention Perrysburg Residents & School District residents: this pool option is for you! Large swimming pool with diving boards, slides and water features.
Proof of residency required. This option gives you the opportunity to pay for individual days, or season passes. Pool hours – 1-8:30 p.m, Sunday to Saturday. Toddler time – 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, for children age 5 and under only. To contact the pool: 419-872-7966
PLUMMER POOL
6940 Maplewood Ave. Sylvania
Sylvania Community pool featuring a zero entry area with water features perfect for the little ones (or mom who just wants to sit and relax). Pack a cooler or use the snack bar. Right outside the pool walls is a park area with playgrounds and swings. Entry to the pool is open to the public as well as residents, and cost ranges from $3-$8 by age and residential qualifications. Open Monday-Saturday, Noon-7pm and Sunday, 1-7pm

TOLEDO CITY POOLS
The City of Toledo operates several pools within the 419. Below is a list of pools around the Lucas County area. Look to find the one closest to you! Cost is $1 for children under 12, and $2 for 13 and older. Pools will open May 27th – Aug 19th, and run daily from 12-6pm.
Pools are subject to closing due to maintenance, so please check 419-936-2875 for recreation information, the individual pool, or search for pool information on the city website at toledo.oh.gov.
