Events In March

There’s always something to do in the Toledo/ Northwest Ohio area. This guide showcases many opportunities to get out of the house and have some fun this March!

March 1: 12:30pm-2:30pm {$45} Farmhouse Wreath Sign at Glass City Cupcakes. This workshop will consist of painting, stenciling or framing a farmhouse sign. Includes coffee and cupcake. Sign measures 17.5” x 21.5”.

March 2: 10am-5pm {$25} Cooties! Fused Glass Project at Coppermoon Studio. Ages 4 to Adult. Walk-in style project available daily. Allow approx. 30-60 minutes to create. Lil’ Chips projects are based on “lil’ chips” of colored glass that you can use to create all sorts of mosaic and abstract designs.

March 3: TICKETS GO ON SALE FOR MOMS NIGHT OUT: Barre Crawl 8:00 am ($25.00)

March 4: 9:30 am-10 am March Story-Time at Bowinkles! Join for their monthly storytime. They will be reading The Luckiest St. Patrick’s Day Ever and will also decorate shamrocks as their craft!

March 5: 6pm-8pm {$15} ReStore It Yourself Workshop at Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. The hands-on learning event is a social and skill developing workshop that will focus around materials you can purchase at Habitat for Humanity.

March 6: 5:30pm-9pm {$20} Pure Barre Pop Up Class with the UT Rockets. Class at 5:30pm in the Fetterman Gym inside Savage Arena. Stay afterwards for light refreshments and watch the Men’s UT Basketball team take on Eastern Michigan.

March 6: 4:15pm-5:45pm {$35} Ages 8 and up. Create in Perrysburg is hosting an evening for your little ones to make Origami Paper Flowers. Start thinking spring with a beautiful bouquet of brightly colored paper flowers! Students will have the opportunity to make an inspiring bouquet, embellished with gemstones and buttons. Finished flowers will be presented in a washi tape decorated vase.

March 8: 9am-3pm {Adults $6, Kids under 12 FREE} Greater Toledo Train & Toy Show. The Greater Toledo Train and Toy Show is the only train and toy show in the tri-state area that specifically serves the younger audience as a part of their program. Boys and girls alike find great joy in trains, toys and models, LEGOS, and building! Children of all ages are invited to come and have a day filled with fun, interactive exhibits that encourage imagination and support core learning skills.

March 10: 11:30am-12:30pm Hug a Pup – King BranchLibrary a socialization event for the Puppies in the Ability Center’s Assistance Dog Program. Join to learn more about opportunities to foster or sit for the puppies in training.

March 11: 9am {FREE} Little Leprechauns Music and Movement Class at West Side Montessori. Wear green and join us at West Side Montessori’s Perrysburg Campus. Enjoy some refreshing green juice provided by Neuroflex Juice Co.

March 13: 8pm {$35} Blarney Shamrockin’ Shuffle – A Guinness World Record Event. Ages 21 and older. 5K run/walk event downtown Toledo. When you’re done, join the ongoing celebration inside downtown Toledo’s Blarney Irish Pub party tent to celebrate the accomplishment. Blarney Shuffle benefits the Toledo Fire Fighters Local 92 Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.

March 13: 4-6pm {$20} Join Create in Perrysburg for Friday Open Studio for all ages! Drop-in anytime between 4 and 6pm. All ages are welcome they just ask that children under 7 are accompanied by an adult. They will have a variety of directed projects to choose from, or you can create your own. Go doodle in the window seats or color at the giant easel wall.

March 14: 9am-12pm {FREE}: Lowe’s Fun & Free Kids Workshops! Build and grow workshops where kids can build their own tabletop basketball game. They will also receive an apron, patch, certificate, and goggles. Airport Highway location. Go online to register.

March 15: 11am-2pm {FREE} All ages. Luck O’ the Irish Family Bingo at Sylvania YMCA and JCC. Come enjoy Bingo, prizes, snacks and inflatable fun! This event is free and open to the public.

March 19: 6pm-9pm {$15-$150} Finding My Sparkle National Book Tour at Park Inn Radisson of Toledo. In 2018, Morgan A. Owens launched her first book, Finding My Sparkle a journey through low self-esteem and body image issues. Since launching the book Morgan has gone on to write for the National Black Press, a monthly column encouraging others to find theirs. In 2020 her desire is to spread her message of encouragement to hundreds of other women through a multi-city book tour

March 20: 7pm-9pm {$45} Art Night Out: Acrylic Pour Painting at Create in Perrysburg! The fourth Friday of the month is Art Night Out at Create and in March it is a week early. Make it a date or bring a friend for a creative evening. Join Create to make a one of a kind acrylic painting using fluid acrylic and flow techniques. Each participant will be able to create a mini 4X4 painting and a full size 12X12 gallery wrapped canvas. All supplies included. This is the perfect workshop for the beginner or experienced artist.

March 21: 2pm {$20} Recommended ages K-5th grade. The Magic School Bus at The Valentine Theater. When the class gets lost on the way to the planetarium, Ms. Frizzle saves the day by blasting into outer space for an epic interplanetary field trip! But when rivalries, both old and new, threaten to tear the students apart, our young heroes must learn to pull together or risk getting forever lost in the solar system. Hop on the Magic School Bus for a ride in this new musical adaptation based on the original book series published by Scholastic. One hour in length.

March 22: 5pm {$20-$35} 69th Zenobia Shrine Circus Join friends and family for the wholesome family entertainment that the circus provides. Annual Circus event that has been presented to Toledo since 1952.

March 24: 5pm {ticket prices vary} Toledo Walleye “Women are Rad Night” Toledo Walleye, Jupmode, and Toledo.com are joining forces to celebrate women in the 419.

March 26: 11am-2pm {$40} Spring Break Kids Camp with Board and Brush Sylvania. There will be DIY’s, playing games & having pizza!! Select a wood project from the available options in our gallery. We provide all the materials and instruct you step-by-step to create a beautiful piece for yourself or for a gift. Choose from a variety of paint colors and glitter in the workshop.

March 28: 10am-12pm Bowinkles Tea Party with Bartz Viviano. Join in for a Tea Party at Bowinkles! 25% OFF all Tea Brand merchandise. Plus, all children will get to make their own flower crown, compliments of Bartz Viviano! 🙂 Seating is limited. RSVP opportunity will be announced soon.

March 29: 1pm-2pm {$7-$10} Art Crawl at The Toledo Museum of Art. Explore the galleries and watch your child respond to large colorful paintings, then get messy in the studio with baby-friendly art materials. Parents and caregivers with infants up to 18 months are welcome. Art Crawls are facilitated by an art instructor and participants should bring clothes that can be stained.
