A Toledo Moms Guide To October Events

October 1: Toledo Yoga 2020 Challenge; 5:30am. Join the Toledo Yoga 2020 Challenge to create a new normal, reclaim your power, and leave the year stronger than ever before! 

October 2-4: Ottawa County Halloween Weekend; Join us at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds for our annual Halloween camping weekend.  Check out the schedule for a list of activities exclusive to campers only! 

October 3: Harvest Hayrides at Levis Commons; 4-8pm. Take a Clydesdale-led Harvest Hayride through Levis Commons.  These rides are free, and pre-registration is required. 

October 5: The Monster Mash at Copper Moon; 10am-5pm. It’s a mash, a monster mash! A fun new project at Copper Moon where you can create a fused glass piece all of your own. Limited time only! $25/each. 

October 7: Story Time on the Steps; 10:30-11am. Toledo Museum of Arts. Join a family center staff for a creative storytime outside on the Monroe Street Terrace. 

October 8-10: Hoptoberfest at Earnest Brew Works; Hoptoberfest weekend at Earnest focuses on beer, specifically German-inspired. Food trucks will be on site! 

October 9: CREATE: Art Studio & Workshop, Mini Rainbow Canvas Collection; 4:15-5:15pm. Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud! Students have the opportunity to paint 4 mini rainbow canvases to either keep for themselves or give away to family. A great way to make someone’s day! $30

October 11: Sunday Brunch at the Garden! 10am-2pm. Brunch is back! Brandywine Country Club, open to the public. 

October 13: Drive Through Trunk or Treat; 5-7pm. Family friendly Halloween fun, all from the safely of your vehicle. Toledo Botanical Gardens.

October 14: CREATE: Art Studio & Workshop, Maker’s Monday Harry Potter Inspired; 3:30-5pm. Come create a magic wand, slimey potion and Harry Potter inspired painted canvas! $45

October 15: Drive Through Trunk or Treat; 5-7pm. Family friendly Halloween fun, all from the safely of your vehicle. Side Cut Metropark, Silver Lake Parking Lot.

October 16: CREATE: Art Studio & Workshop, Pumpkins at Night -Van Gogh Style; 5:45-7pm. Using the artist Van Gogh as inspiration, students will create their own field of pumpkins, illuminated by a magical night sky.  This painting will be created with acrylic paint on a gallery wrapped 11 x 14 canvas. $35

October 17: Harvest Hayrides at Levis Commons; 4-8pm. Take a Clydesdale-led Harvest Hayride through Levis Commons.  These rides are free, and pre-registration is required. 

October 18Field Of Dream Drive In Market; 11am-3pm. Celebrate and support local business. Enjoy Live music and support Nature’s Nursery! $5 donation suggested per family/group. 

October 18I Do Fall Bridal Show; 12-5pm. Meet a variety of wedding professionals in a scheduled safe manner.  More details coming soon! Tickets $5. 

October 20: Drive Through Trunk or Treat; 5-7pm. Family friendly Halloween fun, all from the safely of your vehicle. Pearson Metropark, Main Drive. 

October 23CREATE: Art Studio & Workshop, Fall Sunset Painting; 4:15-5:30pm. Using acrylic paint on a 9×12 gallery wrapped canvas, students will paint a unique sunset silhouette! $35

October 24: Halloween Party at Club 16; 8pm. Adults $2, kids get in free.  Haunted hayrides, costume contest, 50/50 raffle, music & snacks!

October 25: Halloween Spooktacular; 3-5pm. Dress up and bring your little ones to a spook-tacularly fun show full of music you know and love.  Toledo Symphony Orchestra. 

October 26: Cardio Drumming at The Healthy Spot Nutrition; 7-8pm. Total body workout for all abilities.  $6 drop in fee. 

October 29: The Saucy Slamwich – Yark Food Trucks; 11:30am-1:30pm. The Saucy Slamwich will be at our Yark Buy Center serving up their awesome gourmet sandwiches. 

October 30: CREATE: Art Studio & Workshop, Pumpkin Painting Party; 4:15-5:15pm. A super fun workshop for our younger artists!  Each participant will paint, decorate, and embellish one mini and one pie pumpkin!  They will have access to acrylic paint, plus feathers, pom poms, sparkles, and a variety of other exciting supplies! $35 

October 30: Halloween Movie Night, Hocus Pocus at Toledo Mud Hens; 5:30-9:30pm. Grab your blankets and come watch your favorite movies on the biggest screen in town! 

October 31: HALLOWEEN!  Check your local listing for Trick or Treat times.

Megan Scott
Megan Scott is a 39-year-old wife and momma that resides in Maumee with her husband, Tony, and five children. Their oldest, Lily, is a sophomore at BGSU, and their other three school-aged children attend Springfield schools (Go Blue Devils!) - Eva is a freshman in high school, and twins Will & Maira are 8th graders. Their youngest, Scarlett, was a surprise blessing born in November. They never dreamed they'd be back knee-high in diapers but sometimes life throws you a curveball and all you can do is embrace it; truth be told, they are loving every moment of this full, crazy new life! Megan currently works at Team Sports Inc. as a Buyer, and in her spare time her interests include a new found love of running, travel, sports, and any activity that her kids are currently involved in. Practically every night of the week you can find her in the gym or at the ball field cheering them on! She also has a great love of the outdoors and enjoys visiting her family cottage in the U.P. of Michigan any chance she gets. She is so excited to be a part of Toledo Moms and is really looking forward to connecting with new people. She cannot wait to rediscover what Toledo has to offer new moms as she embarks on this new journey!
